Nuria Ligero extends with Real Betis and will stay in Andalusia at least until the end of the next season.
The 30-year-old has lived in Seville her whole life. The Andalusian native first played for Betis’ city rivals, Sevilla, for seven seasons and over 100 appearances. In 2014, the Spanish defender moved across the city and joined Betis. Since Real Betis promotion to Liga Iberdrola, Ligero, who captains the team, played 164 matches on the highest level of the Spanish women’s football. Dorine Chuigoue and Paula Perea also extended their contracts in the last couple of months.
“I am where I want to be, I feel the club is my home. I have the same wish as the first day. For my part there will never be a lack of work, from the first minute I will be there for whatever the team needs in the best conditions”, Ligero added.
