Stefanie da Eira and Laia Ballesté join Sporting Huelva from Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano, respectively, on a contract until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old Balleste started her career with Valencia’s second team. After brief spells with Deportivo Alaves and EDF Logroño, the Spanish defender joined Rayo Vallecano last year. In the last season, Ballesté played 30 matches for the Madrid club.
“Last year I had the opportunity to come to Sporting but I opted for another team, and when I received the news that Sporting was still interested in me it is true that I hesitated to tell my representative to go ahead and listen to the proposal,” said Ballesté.

The 29-year-old Stefanie da Eira spent her whole career in Switzerland before moving to Spain and signing with Betis last year. The Swiss midfielder with Portuguese roots played 28 matches in the last season of Liga Iberdrola.
“I am sure that if you give 100% and also give it to the player next to you, you will do better than if you only think about yourself,” added new Sporting’ summer arrival, joining Zala Meršnik, Sofia Hagman, Patrycja Balcerzak, Patrícia Hmírová and Laura Blasco who already signed for Huelva recently.
