Stephannie Blanco joins Sporting Huelva

Stephannie Blanco joins Sporting Huelva after leaving Deportivo La Coruña and signed a 2-year contract until June 2023.

The 20-year-old centre back played in 32 matches for Deportivo in the last season of Liga Iberdrola. After the Galician club got relegated, the Costa Rican defender decided to make a change and joined Sporting. Deportivo was also the first experience abroad for the Costa Rican international, who hopes to settle in as quick as possible.

“This opportunity has opened up for me and I believe that opportunities are there to be taken advantage of. I’ve been given this one and I hope to make the most of it,” said Blanco.

Blanco is Sporting’s 6th newcomer of the current transfer window. Hannah Keane, Emily Dolan, Leticia Mendez, Cristina Pizarro and Judith Luzuriaga have already joined the club.
