Trio moves to Granadilla

Tenerife’s club reinforces their midfield and defence after a trio moves to Granadilla. Sandra Hernández, Berta Méndez and Isabel Álvarez will all wear blue-white jersey in the next season.

Sandra Hernández was born on Canary Island, but moved to Barcelona at age 17 to play for Blaugrana, where she won Liga Iberdrola and Copa de la Reina. She stayed there for 3 years before moving to Valencia in 2017. After more than 50 appearances with The Bats, she returns home to the Canary Islands.

Isabel Álvarez arrives from Fundación Albacete, with whom she competed last season in Reto Iberdrola, the second division of Spanish Women’s football. A young, 21-year-old defender signs a one-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Berta Méndez is joining Granadilla for a fellow Canary Island club, Real Unión Tacuense. Former Atlético Madrid academy player will get a chance to play on the highest level for the first time.
