“Renewing with Atlético de Madrid until 2023 means a lot to me, especially the club’s confidence in me and knowing that I can stay one more year with all my teammates and with this club that means so much to me after what it has given me,” added Virginia.

The club also announced that Deyna Castellanos, Aïssatou Tounkara, Hedvig Lindahl, Laia Aleixandri, Silvia Meseguer, and Amanda Sampedro will leave the club, following expiration of their contracts.
