Alexandra Johannsdottir joins Fiorentina from Eintracht Frankfurt. She penned a two-year contract, until June 2024.
The 22-year-old played in her homeland of Iceland for Haukar and Breiðablik before moving to Germany and signing for Eintracht last year. In the Frauen Bundesliga, the Icelandic midfielder, with 24 caps for the national team, played 26 matches.
“I chose Fiorentina because the Italian league is getting better, and better players are coming here, and I like a challenge,” said Johannsdottir, who joins Viola as another summer arrival after Jenna Menta, Jazmin Jackmon, Miriam Longo, Kaja Eržen, Milica Mijatović, Rachele Baldi, Alice Parisi, Zsanett Kajan and Laura Agard
