Dominika Čonč joins Sampdoria on a free transfer after she previously terminated contract with Valencia.
The 29-year-old is one of the best Slovenian players. After playing for a different club in her native country, Čonč moved abroad for the first time in 2016, when she signed for Fortuna Hjorring. From there, the Slovenian midfielder, with almost 50 caps, joined Espanyol and later Malaga. After a two-year spell with AC Milan, she joined Valencia last year, but terminated a contract a few weeks ago due to lack of playing time.
“I started playing in Slovenia at a very young age with the men’s team. In order to pursue my dream and continue my studies, I had to leave my country: after many trips, today I am here and I am happy. Overcoming difficulties has made me the person I am and taught me never to give up, in football and in life,” said Čonč.
