Elena Linari, a 26-year-old defender, already played eight seasons in Serie A with Brescia and Fiorentina. She left the Serie A with 179 appearances and 21 goals and moved to Atletico Madrid in 2018. After 2 seasons in Madrid she moved previous summer to D1 Arkema league where she signed for Bordeaux.
But her she is not happy with her development in France as she played only 205 minutes in this season for a third place Bordeaux.
Because of unsufficient playing time, she was searching for a new team where she could play more imporant part in. She found that in her home country, where she signed a contract with Roma today.
Roma has recently added a lot of international players to their team, including Andressa Alves, Andrine Hegerberg, Lindsey Thomas, and Manuela Giugliano. 3 time Scudetto winner Linari is just another top-level signing that will reinforce giallorosse’s defence and provide more options for rotation, especially after Andrine Hegerberg’s injury a couple of days ago.
