Inter with a historic win over Milan in Coppa Italia Femminile

Goals from Gloria Marinelli and Caroline Møller blessed Inter with a historic win over Milan in Coppa Italia Femminile.

It was an explosive start right from the beginning. A penalty was given to Inter after a handball from Laura Fusetti in the box. Yoreli Rincón stepped up but Maria Korenčiová read her well and was managed to save her penalty. Luckily for neroazzure, Gloria Marinelli was the first to the rebound and was managed to put Inter in the lead in the 4th minute. Not even 10 minutes later, Inter doubled their advantage via Caroline Moller Hansen who fired a rocket and left no chance to Maria Korenčiová. Just two minutes later, in 14th minute, Milan came back into the game with a nice lob from Valentina Giacinti.

In the 2nd half, Milan stepped up their game and were chasing the equalizer. The closes they got, was in 71st minute. Yui Hasegawa found Christy Grimshaw with a pass. The Scottish international tried with her left foot, but the post denied Rossonere from equalizing. But despite pressure from Milan, Inter got an opportunity to extend their lead but Julie Debever hit the woodwork.

Milan were unable to get the 2nd goal, allowing Inter to achieve their first win ever over city rivals before the return leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal that will take place on the weekend of 24/25th of April. Yesterday, Roma won against Juventus in the first semi-final.
