Katja Schroffenegger extends with Fiorentina

Katja Schroffenegger extends with Fiorentina for another year, until the end of the next season.

The 31-year-old played for Brixen and FC Südtirol before moving abroad to Germany and signing with Jena. Followed by spells with FC Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen, the Italian international goalkeeper returned to her homeland and signed for Inter in 2018, followed by one season with Florentia. In 2020, Schroffenegger arrived to Florence and has established herself as number one between the post, making over 40 appearances.

“I am happy to continue my journey here in Fiorentina, especially in the season in which we will have a “home” of our own with the move to Viola Park. It’s a project that will promote the women’s area, it will be an added value for us players and for me who want to win with this shirt,” said Schroffenegger.
