Saki Kumagai moves to AS Roma

Saki Kumagai moves to AS Roma from FC Bayern München on a two-year deal, until June 2025.

The 32-year-old played for Urawa Reds before moving to Germany and joining Frankfurt in 2011. Two years later, the Japanese midfielder signed for Lyon, where she played over 150 matches over 8 years spent there. In 2021, Kumagai returned to Germany, joining FC Bayern. Five-time Women’s Champions League winner with Lyon will join newly-crowned Serie A Femminile champions, which will be her first experience in Italy.

“I’m thrilled to join Roma and can’t wait to play for this club. I’m grateful to Roma for showing their faith in me and I’ll give my all to repay the confidence shown in me and meet the team’s expectations. I want to make history for this club,” Kumagai said.
