Alessia Russo joins Arsenal after contract expiration with league rivals, Manchester United.
The 24-year-old debuted in the English top tier back in 2017, before going over the Atlantic for a college career in the United States. After returning to England, Russo joined Manchester United in 2020. During her time with the Red Devils, she played 59 matches and scored 27 goals. The English forward is also a regular in the national team, currently sitting at 21 caps.
“I’m really excited to be here and I can’t wait to get going. I want to win trophies – as does everyone in this club. I can’t wait to get stuck in and grow as a player – it’s a new challenge and a new environment,” said Russo for arsenal.com. The Gunners also signed Amanda Ilestedt and Cloe Lacasse recently.
