Amanda Ilestedt moves to Arsenal, joining the club from Paris Saint-Germain. She signed a two-year deal.
The 30-year-old will experience another one of the European strongest leagues, after having previously played in Sweden, Germany and France. In 2017, she left her native Sweden and joined Turbine Potsdam for a two-year spell. Later, the Swedish centre-back played for FC Bayern München before joining PSG in 2021. At international level, Ilestedt made 64 appearances for the national team.
“I’m really excited and happy to be here. My goal is to win titles and this is a great club with great players and fantastic facilities, so I believe this is the right place for me to achieve that,” said Ilestedt for arsenal.com. The Gunners also recently extended contracts with three players from their academy – Michelle Agyemang, Freya Godfrey and Naomi Williams.
