Arsenal keep Lydia Williams for another season after triggering an additional year clause in the Australian contract.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper joined Gunners in 2020 from Melbourne City. She played 11 games in this season, dividing the playing time with Manuela Zingsberger. An experienced Australian international with 88 caps will join Matildas also on the Olympics in Tokyo.
“I’m really happy! I just can’t wait to get back and see the fans now. I’ve seen everything on social media, but now I want that fan experience on the pitch and during games because that’s the one thing that I’ve missed the most,” Williams told Arsenal.com.
