Birmingham City signs Libby Smith

Birmingham City signs Libby Smith from Leicester City. She signed a two-year contract.

The 20-year-old made 14 appearances in the last season for the Foxes and won the FA Women’s Championship and promotion to the Women’s Super League. Smith wore the Leicester shirt for her whole career, apart from a one-year spell at Chelsea Academy. The English forward is Birmingham’s fifth arrival, after Sarah Ewens, Lucy Quinn, Louise Quinn and Jade Pennock.

“I am really excited to be here. It’s a great opportunity for myself and the girls this season, and I can’t wait to get going. I’m looking to make a mark and making an impact in the WSL. I can see that Scott Booth has got great ambitions for the Club, that is something that I want to be part of. He has got great experience himself and as a manager,” said Smith.
