Brooke Chaplen signs a new contract with Reading

Brooke Chaplen signs a new contract with Reading FC Women. Chaplen will remain a Royal at least until June 2022.

The 31-year-old joined Reading from Sunderland in 2017 and already became the side’s top goalscorer that season. Chaplen has extensive experience from English top flight, having previously played for Portsmouth, Chelsea and Everton. The striker missed a big part of current season because of illness.

“I am very excited to keep Brooke at Reading. Brooke has had a huge impact at the club, and she has been truly missed on the pitch this season. Brooke is a player that has a clear understanding of the way we play and that has shown in her previous season records. It’s been an extremely frustrating season for Brooke, but she is working really hard to return and is doing really well, I can’t wait to have her back,” Manager Kelly Chambers said.
