Carla Ward appointed as a new Aston Villa coach

Carla Ward appointed as a new Aston Villa coach after club parted ways with Gemma Davis and Marcus Bignot.

The 37-year-old resigned as a Birmingham’s coach a few days ago and will move to their city rivals, Aston Villa. Villa finished a point above Birmingham in 10th place, in a last Women’s Super League season. Gemma Davis and Marcus Bignot, who were in charge before left the club, together with 7 other players.

Carla Ward will take charge of team rebuilding in the summer and try to upgrade the result from her first Women’s Super League campaign when she was also nominated for the manager of the season award.
