Carly Telford to stay in Chelsea for one additional year

Carly Telford will stay in Chelsea for one additional year, at least until June 2022.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper re-joined Chelsea in May 2017 having previously played for the Blues between 2011 and 2013. She has made 75 appearances for Chelsea, keeping 36 clean sheets. In the current season, she made only 3 appearances in FA Super League, being mostly a substitute for Ann-Katrin Berger.

As well as maintaining her spot in the senior team, within the new deal Telford will also take up a part-time coaching role from next season to continue her development, offering support and training to our Under-16 and Under-18 goalkeepers.

Chelsea is working towards maintaining its position in England, since this is already 3rd recent contract extension, following Sophie Ingle and Maren Mjelde.
