Cecilie Sandvej transfers to Birmingham City from FC Fleury 91. She signed a two-year contract.
The 31-year-old started her career with her childhood club, Brøndby IF. After spells in Australia and United States, she returned to Europe, where she played in Frauen Bundesliga for five seasons, wearing SC Sand and 1.FFC Frankfurt shirt. In 2019, she moved to France and signed for Fleury. Danish international defender, with 36 caps, made 20 appearances in the last season.
“From the past few years, the league has just got better and better, so I really wanted to go and try it out. I have experience from the Danish National team as well, so I have had games at a really high level and know how to play under pressure,” said Sandvej for bcfc.com.
