Chelsea and Bristol City to meet in the Conti Cup Final

Chelsea Women and Bristol City Women will meet in the final of the Continental Cup that will take place at Watford FC on Sunday, 14th March.

Pernille Harder sent the Blues to the final with a hat-trick

Chelsea cleared all the doubts of the finalist already in the first half of an hour of play. Harder scored the opener already after 4 minutes from a tight angle, after a pass from Ji So-yun. Sophie Ingle doubled the lead in 15th minute from 20 meters. Harder scored a brace in 25th minute and soon after Beth England netted from close-range for a 4-0 half-time lead.

Fran Kirby scored the fifth one in the 69th minute and late on Harder managed to complete her hat-trick and Chelsea will get the chance to defend their title in Conti Cup.

Bristol City beats Leicester City in tight semi-final

Last placed Super League team and leading Championship team were well-matched in the first part of the game. Bristol’s Charlie Wellings tried with half-volley but the goalkeeper, Kirstie Levell managed to divert the shot onto the crossbar, which was the only noticeable chance of the first half.

Paige Bailey-Gayle and Lachante Paul both had efforts saved by Sophie Baggaley. The Robins managed to get into the lead 72nd minute when Kiera Skeels, 19-year-old who just joined Bristol few days ago, headed the ball in after a cross. Bristol City reaches the Conti Cup final for the first time in its history.
