Drew Spence moves to Tottenham after spending her whole career up to date with Chelsea. She signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
The 29-year-old rose through academy ranks and debuted in Chelsea’s senior team in 2008. Since then, the English midfielder has become a longest-serving player in the club with 238 appearances and 50 goals. In 2015, she debuted in the English national team, but decided to play for Jamaica last year. She received her first call-up in October.
“I’m really excited. It’s a new chapter for me. I’ve seen how much the team has progressed over the past few seasons, challenging teams at the top, so it’s the right move for me and somewhere where I can bring all my experience. I know how to win titles, I know what it’s like to be in a dressing room where there is a winning mentality every day and hopefully that’s something I can bring here,” said Spence.
