Emily Murphy joins Birmingham City

Birmingham city women announced the signing of Emily Murphy that joins the Blues from another FA Women’s Super League side Chelsea.

17-year-old forward already boasts the record of scoring in all three domestic women’s competitions. Despite the youth she scored the first goal Aston Villa in last year’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup quarter-final.

Murphy has also international experience. She wore the armband for England’s Under-17s as they played Euro qualification matches against Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Belgium, also scoring her first goal for the young Lionesses against Belgium.

Murphy is the second signing of 2021 for Carla Ward’s side, after Veatriki Sarri moved from Sheffield United earlier this month.

She will wear number 35 shirt and expected to debut already this weekend against Brighton.
