Emma Koivisto joins Liverpool

Emma Koivisto joins Liverpool from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 27-year-old already has plenty of experience from the Women’s Super League, spending the last 18 months on the coast with Brighton. The Finnish international full-back established herself as a regular and played 26 matches in the last season. Koivisto also has over 60 caps for the Finnish national team.
“I feel really honoured to be able to play for Liverpool. Me and my brother used to be big Liverpool fans growing up because Sami Hyypia, a Finnish legend, was playing for the club when we were kids,” said Koivisto.
The Reds also announced Ceri Holland’s contract extension. The 24-year-old arrived to Liverpool last January after finishing her college career in the US. She played 26 matches for Liverpool, helping them achieve a promotion to the Women’s Super League. The Reds have also renewed a contract with Melissa Lawley recently.
