Gilly Flaherty signs for Liverpool after leaving West Ham United. She is the second summer signing for the Reds, joining Emma Koivisto.
The 30-year-old has plenty of experience in the Women’s Super League. After seven years with Arsenal, the English defender joined Chelsea in 2014. In another move across London, Flaherty joined West Ham in 2018 and captained the club since her arrival. In total, she played over 200 matches in the Women’s Super League and will help the Reds with their return to the highest flight of the English football.
“It feels great to be here. It only took one chat with Beardy (Liverpool manager) and Russ to know how exciting it is to be here and the vision of the club. I’m so grateful to be here and get the chance to join the family,” said Flaherty for liverpoolfc.com.
