Gio Costa transfers to Arsenal

Gio Costa transfers to Arsenal from FC Barcelona for a fee around 40,000€ according to some reports. Until the end of the season, she will play on loan at Everton.

The 19-year-old started her senior career with Madrid CFF but moved to Barcelona in 2020. The Brazilian winger mostly played for Blaugrana’s B team. Last yer, Costa was loaned to Levante, where she got regular playing time. In 31 matches, she scored 11 goals. The talented forward already has 12 caps for the Brazilian national team.

“I’m very excited. I know Arsenal is a great club – it’s one of the best clubs in Europe. All of the players here are very competitive and have a lot of experience, so I’m excited to learn from them and develop. Arsenal is a club that belongs at the top and with hard work we can make sure we are there,” said Costa for arsenal.com. The Gunners have also signed Lina Hurtig and Kaylan Marckese during current transfer window.
