Janina Leitzig returns to Leicester City

Janina Leitzig returns to Leicester City after spending last half of the season on loan. She joins the Foxes from FC Bayern München.

The 24-year-old started her senior career with Hoffenheim but moved to München in 2021. For Bavarians, the German goalkeeper stood between the posts 21 times but was loaned to Leicester City in January. In England, Leitzig played 14 matches for the Foxes, 12 in the Women’s Super League.

“It feels really good. I’m really happy to have signed and I’m excited for the upcoming season. I really enjoyed my time here last year – everyone has been so nice, I had a lot of fun and I think the Club has huge potential. I can’t wait to get started again,” said Leitzig.
