Jill Roord transfers to Manchester City

Jill Roord transfers to Manchester City from Wolfsburg. She signed a three-year contract, until June 2026.

The 26-year-old already has experience from the Women’s Super League, when she wore the Arsenal jersey between 2019 and 2021. The Dutch midfielder started her senior career with Twente before moving abroad and signing with FC Bayern München. After the abovementioned spell with Arsenal, Roord returned to Germany and joined Wolfsburg. International with 86 caps becomes the first summer arrival for City.

“I have always thought that this was a fantastic club with lots of quality, and I’m super excited to start here. I really like the way that they play, and I feel that it suits me perfectly. There’s a lot of quality in the team, and it’s a young side with plenty of potential which is very important to me,” said Roord.
