Kadeisha Buchanan transfers to Chelsea

Kadeisha Buchanan transfers to Chelsea from Olympique Lyon. She signed a three-year contract, until June 2025.

The 26-year-old played college football for West Virginia University before moving across the Atlantic and arriving to Europe, where she signed for Lyon. During her five years in France, the Canadian centre-back has become one of the best defenders in the world. She has won five Women’s Champions League titles, including the most recent one a few weeks ago. She played 130 matches and score nine goals for the French champions. She debuted for the Canadian national team at the age of 18 and has since made 118 appearances, also winning Olympics gold medal last year. Another summer arrival for the Blues, following the signing of Eve Perisset.
