Kyra Cooney-Cross signs for Arsenal

Kyra Cooney-Cross signs for Arsenal, joining the club from a Swedish side, Hammarby IF.

The 21-year-old played for Western City Wanderers and Melbourne Victory before leaving her native Australia and signing for Hammarby last year. The talented midfielder already debuted for Matildas and is currently sitting at 31 caps. In the last season of Allsvenskan, Cooney-Cross played 30 matches and was part of the Swedish Cup winning squad. The Gunners also signed Laia Codina, Alessia Russo, Amanda Ilestedt and Cloe Lacasse recently.

“I’m so excited to join this club. Arsenal just felt right as soon as I heard about the interest. I’m really looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Emirates Stadium in front of a big crowd for our first game there this season,” said Cooney-Cross for arsenal.com.
