Lauren James moves to Chelsea

Lauren James moves to Chelsea from Manchester United. She signed a four-year deal with the Blues.

The 19-year-old played in Chelsea’s academy until she was 14. After that, she moved to their London rivals, Arsenal, where she debuted on the senior level. From London, she left for Manchester, where she signed the first professional contract in 2018. James made history with scoring the first ever Red Devils’ goal in the Women’s Super League.

“To be able to play for the first team now and come back here to Emma (Hayes) and the rest of the group is a great feeling. I’m excited to get started and I can’t wait to meet all the fans at Kingsmeadow when the new season kicks in,” said James.

Hannah Blundell headed in the opposite direction and signed for Manchester United.
