Leicester City dismiss Lydia Bedford as a head coach after a poor start into the Women’s Super League season. The club announced Willie Kirk will be her replacement.
The 35-year-old Lydia Bedford took over Leicester City last year in December. She managed to stay in the English top flight in the last season but lost all six matches in the current season. The Foxes are sitting on the last place as the only team without points. Despite extending her contract in July, the club said “that a change in direction is necessary.”
Willie Kirk, who joined Leicester City in the summer as a director of football will become a new head coach. The 44-year-old previously managed Brighton and Everton in the Women’s Super League.
