Leonie Maier makes Everton move

Leonie Maier makes Everton move after her contract with Arsenal expired. She signed a contract until June 2023.

The 28-year-old arrived to Arsenal in 2019 from FC Bayern München, where she played for 6 seasons. With the Bavarian club, she won Frauen Bundesliga twice. A German international, who won EURO 2013 and gold medal at 2016 Olympics, played in 15 games for the Gunners in the last season.

“I’m really happy to join this club. Everton is a big club with a lot of history. I’m really looking forward to being able to play for this club, playing with my new teammates and working with the staff. It was time to experience something new. I was very impressed by Everton with how they play football,” said Maier.

Maier is already 5th Everton’s newcomer, who is building a competitive squad for the next season. Kenza Dali, Toni Duggan, Anna Anvegård and Nathalie Björn have already been presented as new Everton players.
