Lydia Bedford takes over Leicester City

Lydia Bedford takes over Leicester City. She signed the contract until the end of the current season.

After Jonathan Morgan was sacked last week after a poor start in the debut Women’s Super League campaign, the club have appointed current England Women’s U-17 head coach as a new manager. Young coach, who spent past seven years with English Football Association, will debut in the highest level of the women’s football. Previously, she coached London Bees and Tottenham Hotspur in the Women’s FA Championship.

“Leicester City’s vision for women’s football and the extent of its ambition have been obvious during the last two seasons, so I’m unbelievably excited to have the chance to be part of that. Taking the step into a senior coaching role is something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Bedford for the club’s website.
