Mana Iwabuchi hangs up boots

Mana Iwabuchi hangs up boots at the age of 30, she announced today.

The Japanese forward started her senior career in her homeland with Nippon TV Beleza. In 2012, she moved to Germany after signing for Hoffenheim, followed by spell with FC Bayern München. In 2017, she returned to Japan for three season before returning to Europe, this time to the Women’s Super League, where she played for Aston Villa, Arsenal and last half of the season, Tottenham. On the international stage, Iwabuchi played almost 100 matches for the national team, winning Women’s World Cup in 2011.
