Manchester City sign Filippa Angeldahl from Swedish champions BK Häcken. She signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.
The 24-year-old moves abroad for the first time in her career. The Swedish midfielder played for Vaksala SK, IK Sirius, AIK, Hammarby and Linköpings FC before joining Häcken, where she played for the last two seasons. In 2017, Angeldahl won Damallsvenskan most valuable player award. With the Swedish national team, she won the silver medal at Tokyo Olympics.
“I am very excited to join Manchester City. It’s a huge club and I can’t wait to start working with the team. For me, I feel like now is the right moment to take the next step in my career and I feel like City are the best choice for me to do that,” said Angeldahl.
