Marc Skinner takes over Manchester United Women. The new head coach signed a two-year contract with the option for an additional year.
The 38-year-old already has experience from the Women’s Super League, when he was coaching Birmingham City between 2016 and 2019. In 2019, Skinner moved to Florida where he was in charge of OL Reign for the last two seasons. He will replace Casey Stoney who was United’s coach since the formation of the Women’s section.
“I am excited and proud to become head coach at Manchester United. I’m looking forward to working closely with the staff and this talented group of players. Our focus is to build on everything they have already achieved in the women’s game. It’s an exciting opportunity to lead the team into what will be another competitive WSL season; I want us to achieve success together and our aim is to give the fans a team they can continue to be proud of,” said newly appointed United coach.
