Maren Mjelde renews with Chelsea

Maren Mjelde renews with Chelsea and will play for the Blues also in the next season.

The 33-year-old spent the majority of her career in Norwegian Toppserien (apart from one season with Turbine Potsdam in Germany), before joining Chelsea in 2016. The Norwegian defender has made 131 appearances and scored 22 goals for the club. Mjelde is also a regular in the national team, currently sitting at just over 160 caps.

“I feel really happy, Chelsea is my club and it has been for six-and-a-half years. I’m happy to stay here, it’s been my home for a long time and I’m really excited for next season,” said Mjelde, joining Lauren James and Fran Kirby as the latest contract renewal.
