Noelle Maritz transfers to Aston Villa

Noelle Maritz transfers to Aston Villa from a fellow WSL side, Arsenal. She signed a contract until June 2026, with an option for an additional year.

The 28-year-old played for FC Zürich and Vfl Wolfsburg before joining Arsenal in 2020. In London, the Swiss defender played 90 matches for the Gunners, helping them win the Women’s League cup in the last season. The first Villa’s winter arrival is also a regular in the national team, with over 100 caps for Switzerland.

It’s a massive club, there is so much potential. And I fell like the club is really striving to build something and I’m really happy to be a part of it,” said Maritz.
