Paul Konchesky takes over West Ham United following the departure of Olli Harder, who stepped down after the last game of the season.
The 36-year-old Olli Harder has been with West Ham since 2020. In the current season, he led the team to the 6th place in the Women’s Super League with their highest-ever point count with 27. He announced his departure after the last game of the season, against Arsenal, to pursue new opportunities.
His successor on Hammers’ bench is Harder’s assistant, Paul Konchesky. Duo worked together since May 2021. The 40-year-old former left-back, who also played 70 matches for West Ham during his career, signed a two-year deal with the Hammers.
“This is a very proud moment for me. I’m really honoured to have been appointed. I’m relishing both the challenge and the opportunity that comes with this role. West Ham is really close to my heart – it was a dream to play for the club and now to be in this position is something I am really excited about. I’m looking forward to getting started,” said Konchesky.
