Rachel Corsie signs for Aston Villa after having spent the last year with Kansas City. She signed a two-and-a-half year contract.
The 32-year-old started her career in the highest tier of the Scottish women’s football. In 2015, the Scottish centre-back moved to the US, where she played for OL Reign and Utah Royals. Corsie spent a year also in Australia and with Birmingham City. After the Royals moved to Kansas City, she was named captain of the team. Corsie, who has over 120 appearances for the Scotland national team, will now play also for the team from the other side of Birmingham.
“I am really excited to be here. It’s a club that has a lot of prestige, and in the women’s game I think it’s making big strides and it’s exciting to be part of that,” said Corsie in her first interview.
