Rafaelle Souza becomes the first Brazilian in Arsenal

Rafaelle Souza becomes the first Brazilian in Arsenal after joining the Gunners from Chinese side Changchun Zhuoyue.

The 30-year-old started her career in the United States, where she first played college football. Later, she was picked by Houston Dash in the College draft. After a spell in the US, the Brazilian international midfielder, with 33 caps for the national team, moved to China, where she played for Changchun Zhuoyue for the last five years. After contract expiration, Souza will get a taste of the European football for the first time in her career.

“I’m so excited. I feel great to be here and to be playing in such a strong and competitive league. I feel like when I decided to come here, I was looking for a club where I can show my football and show my skills and be in the centre of the world,” said Souza for www.arsenal.com.

Arsenal have already added Stina Blackstenius and Laura Wienroither to their squad for the second half of the season.
