Riko Ueki completes West Ham move from Japanese side, Tokyo Verdy Belez.
The 24-year-old moves abroad for the first time in her career after having played for Tokyo Verdy until now. The Japanese forward debuted in the top tier in 2016 and has since made over 130 appearances. Ueki is also a regular in the national team, for which she played 25 matches so far.
“When I made the decision to join the club, I felt I needed to test myself in Europe. I think I will be able to improve as a footballer here and in doing so, do my best for the team as well,” added Ueki, who becomes the fourth summer arrival for the Hammers, joining Megan Walsh, Emma Harries and Katelin Talbert.
