Ruesha Littlejohn and Emily Gielnik join Aston Villa on short-term contracts until the end of the next season.

The 31-year-old Littlejohn moves across the city after spending the second half of the last season with Birmingham City. Born in Glasgow, but Irish international on a senior level, has played for various clubs in Scotland and England. The striker made 11 appearances for the Blues but failed to score any goals.

“I’m delighted to be part of the squad. It’s exciting to see what’s going on at the club and I’m really looking forward to seeing how the season goes,” said Littlejohn.

Emily Gielnik arrives from Vittsjö GIK, where she played for the last two seasons. The 29-year-old Australian forward already has experience from the Women’s Super League, where she played for Liverpool in 2012. Gielnik, who has more than 40 caps for Matildas, also played in Germany, Canada, Australian and recently in Sweden.
