Sandy MacIver signs a new contract with Everton

Sandy MacIver signs a new contract with Everton that will keep her in Liverpool at least until June 2023.

MacIver, who went through Everton’s youth school, rejoined the club in 2020 after three seasons in the United States. She established herself as a number one between the post and got her debut a month ago in the English National team. The 22-year-old was a crucial figure in Everton’s run to the 2020 FA Cup final, where they were defeated by Manchester City after extra-time, while MacIver was recognised as a Player of the Match.

“the ultimate goal is to be England’s No. 1”

– Sandy MacIver

“I’m really excited to sign this contract and be at Everton for another two years. Willie (Kirk, head coach) signing his new contract at the end of last year was a real statement, too, and shows his belief in where the Club is going. That was another big reason for me wanting to stay. The Champions League is where we want to be. I really believe the foundations are in place to do that. I don’t see why we can’t break into that top three or four in the WSL and cement ourselves as a top side in Europe. On a personal level, the ultimate goal is to be England’s No. 1. I really believe being an Everton player can help me achieve that,” MacIver said for Everton’s website.

MacIver followed Lucy Graham and Izzy Christiansen who also extended their contract with the Toffees.
