Shannon Cooke signs for West Ham United, joining the club from Louisiana State University, where she spent the last four years.
The 22-year-old was formed in Arsenal and also already debuted for the Gunners in the Women’s Super League back in 2018. After that, the English defender moved across the Atlantic to study and play college football. Now, Cooke returns to the WSL, signing a long-term contract with the Hammers.
“I’m thrilled to sign for West Ham United. It’s been a dream of mine for a very long time to sign my first professional contract, so to be able to do that at such a great club like West Ham is fantastic,” said Cooke.
West Ham also announced arrival of Amalie Thestrup, who joins the club on loan for the remainder of the season from PSV Vrouwen. Recently, also Anouk Denton and Amber Tysiak signed with the Irons.
