Steph Houghton extends with Manchester City, signing one-year extension until the end of the next season.
The 35-year-old Manchester City legend joined the club in 2013, after having previously played for Sunderland, Leeds United and Arsenal. Since then, the English centre-back made 233 appearances, topping the club’s all-time list. City’s captain also won four League Cups, three Women’s FA Cups and one Women’s Super League title with the club.
“I’m over the moon to have another year to look forward to at this amazing club. Manchester City has been my home for almost ten years, and I love everything about it –it’s my club, and to sign for another year, I’m absolutely buzzing,” added Houghton, joining Khadija Shaw and Alanna Kennedy as the latest contract renewal.
City also announced they will activate additional year option in Filippa Angeldahl’s contract. The 25-year-old joined the club in 2021 from BK Häcken and played 48 matches for the club. The Swedish midfielder also scored 8 goals on the way.
