Trio sign for Reading FC

Trio sign for Reading FC. Jacqueline Burns, Lauren Wade and Charlie Wellings will all play for the Royals in the next season.

The 25-year-old Jacqueline Burns is Northern Ireland number one between the post. She joins Reading FC from BK Häcken, where she played since the beginning of the year. Prior to that, Burns also played in Iceland. Reading will be her first experience in the Women’s Super League.

Lauren Wade is Burns’ teammate in the Northern Ireland national team. The 28-year-old will also debut in the English top flight, joining the Royals from Glentoran. Previously, the experienced midfielder also played in Sweden and Scotland for Umea and Glasgow City, respectively.

Charlie Wellings moves to Reading from Celtic, where she spent the last season. The English forward already has some experience from the Women’s Super League, having played for Birmingham City and Bristol.

Reading also previously signed Becky Jane and Brooke Hendrix.
