Viviane Asseyi moves to West Ham United

Viviane Asseyi moves to West Ham United from FC Bayern München.

The 28-year-old played in her homeland of France for Rouen, Montpellier, Marseille, and Bordeaux before joining FC Bayern in 2020. The French midfielder played an important part in Bayern’s winning campaign in 2021. In total, Asseyi made 52 appearances in Bavaria. The French international with 55 caps joins Alex HenessySophie Hillyerd, Lisa Evans, Kirsty Smith and Izzy Atkinson who already signed for the Hammers.

“I am delighted to join West Ham United. It’s really good to be in England, the country of football. I’m excited to join the club and have the opportunity to play in the Women’s Super League. It’s one of the best leagues in the world and it’s a new challenge that I’m really looking forward to,” said Asseyi.
