Vivianne Miedema extends with Arsenal

Vivianne Miedema extends with Arsenal, which is understood to be short-term.

After months of speculations and links with Barcelona, the 25-year-old decided to extend her stay in London, despite being able to leave for free in the summer. One of the best strikers in the world played in her native Netherlands for Heerenveen before joining FC Bayern München in 2014. She joined Arsenal in 2017 and has since scored 117 goals in 144 appearances and won the Women’s Super League title in the 2018/19 season. Miedema also tops all-time top-scorer charts of the highest flight of English football. Arsenal previously extended contracts with Noelle Maritz, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Steph Catley.

“I think the most beautiful thing about the game is building something with a team and with people around you that you really want to be around. I do feel like I have got that at Arsenal. I feel like for me, winning titles with Arsenal will mean a lot more to me than winning them with another club at the moment. And that’s what I obviously hope to achieve with Arsenal,” added Miedema for arsenal.com.
