Yui Hasegawa joins Manchester City

Yui Hasegawa joins Manchester City from a fellow WSL side, West Ham United. She signed a three-year deal, until June 2025.

The 25-year-old spent most of her career in Japan playing for Nippon TV Beleza. She swapped her homeland for Europe last year, when she signed for AC Milan. The international midfielder, with 58 caps for Japan, transferred to West Ham last summer. Hasegawa played 17 matches for the Hammers and scored two goals.

“It has been a big dream of mine to come to Manchester City to play football, so I am very happy to be here. When I played against City last season, I really liked the team’s playing style, so when I got this opportunity, I immediately wanted to join the club,” said Hasegawa, who joins Kerstin Casparij, Sandy MacIver, Mary Fowler, Laia Alexandri, Leila Ouahabi and Deyna Castellanos  as the latest summer signing.
